most common, like sybil works which is only suits for close up.
you cannot see the beauty for a far view,

if classic flourish like fanning n card spring ..i think
its card manipulation right..but dunno why people call its classic flourish..
i think you guy ever seen it
ohh i got confuse here

demonstrating them close up probably for making ur magic tricks more flashy..which is kindof the trend now.....and i think mixing them is good as long as the magicians perform it really well.

If we mix some flourish when we perform magic,I think it can catch the audience's heart, making it more cooler especialy the card shuffle,to show off

Kalau kita buat flourish saja infront of the audience, i bet, you will hear they say,'apakan~'

We can do card manipulation for close up what.

different people different view..
for me 'show off' is not a good thing esp in art form
also using word of show off is immature
maybe word 'present your skill' much better

i wonder what happen with Brian and Lee Asher actually Shocked

Yeah i totally agree with you...

showing off means you are trying to show that you are better than other people....

but thats not the point in cardistry, we have fun sharing our work....

Brian and Lee Asher, they married i gues. Lol. Very Happy

Show off in good term. Its the matter of skill.. By competing with other,it can develope flourish industry. If it is an art form, you can't show off meh?

are you actually understand what show off mean?

show off-- menunjuk-nunjuk dengan bangga
show off is flaunt: display proudly; act ostentatiously or pretentiously
one who shows off; To exhibit; to demonstrate one's skill, talent, etc. for its own sake

competing with other in purpose to show off its different
you not able to develop any skill except hostility

in art form show off only bring prejudice to other people/artist
than trying to appreciate your artwork
which is make you a bad artist ..

the whole point is show off is bad attitude
so to present your skill you don't need to show off

Yeah,
ur right admin...

i totally agree on that..

although some might think that ' why learn if you are not showing it?'
well, learning it is one thing, showing it off is another..
klau pandai and share sma urng len ok plng tu..
tpi cm liat2kn urng and then cm 'ku andal kaliah'. atu len plng to...

Cua liat cm Dan and Dave Buck for example; btapa andal drang pun mana ada drang showoff... Drang lgi share work drang sma ktani...

Flourish is just an art...mcm silat bah, you dont need to show off that you were good at it;silat burung rajawali, gerak rusa, silat harimau kundau, lumpat harimau bespring.
kalau showoff, jadi taie klaie tah pulang. "apa liat2? minta patahkan leher mu kah? mae tah~!"
not good. Evil or Very Mad

not necessarily teaching to people just for the sake of humility,be aware of your statements which may appear slightly different in people's brain than what you would consider as 'show off' its always best to practise more and talk less. Besides, humility is encouraged for muslims. I think you started way long before i even touch cards. Why now say ur a newbie? Still over those period consuming ur free spaces with cardistry,no single video is produced. I remember u not once, but twice, promised a video Adib, u even say whats left is just the editing,to my curiosity, how long does it take to edit such video really? If u want me to edit for u,i can do that, just dont let expectations fall down frm these people.
