David Stone- Real Secret of Magic. Tons of great tricks. You can learn to capture and entertain audience with easy-to-do magic. Great tips and advice for beginners. Must have for magician

Re: Post any recommend magic dvd
I agree with Ajmal, and I would like to add,
LMVI dvds are great too~!
but this are for those who are intermediate magicians. Few explainations + real live performances of more than 20 hardworking magicians.

Re: Post any recommend magic dvd
My suggestion:
CARD:
1. Born To Perform Card Magic by Oz Pearlman (Wicked)
2. The Card College Series (I don't have them yet, but I heard they are the best).
3. Royal Road to Card Magic (A book. A lot easier to absorb than Expert At the Card Table).
COIN:
1. Michael Ammar's Introduction to Coin Magic (Learn from one of the best, he's a good teacher too, some rare sleights and tricks were put in this DVD).
2. In The Beginning There Were Coins. (Jay is a good teacher. Many great routines here).
MENTALISM:
1. 13 Steps to Mentalism by Corinda.
OTHERS:
1. Real Secrets of Magic both volumes by David Stone. (Wicked).
2. Sponge by Jay Noblezada (Excellent).
3. On The Spot by Gregory Wilson.
4. Anytime, Anywhere by Jay Sankey.
5. Mark Wilson Complete Course in Magic (a book).

Card stunts by Greg Wilson is awesome material.sadly,i'm not that committed to magic anymore...The crash course is compulsory for all magicians.
Re: Post any recommend magic dvd
I don't own Crash Course, fiez Anybody willing to sell it to me for $5?
RRTCM and Modern Coin Magic ada dvd. They should be complementary to the books.

Re: Post any recommend magic dvd
haha i totally agree with CC1 and CC2 being a good start off for card magic.
Those two vides were my first introduction into magic. The basics are taught in detail very well. After learning the routines 2 years ago, i still use them till today
David Stone's "Real Secrets of Magic" DVDs are probably some of the most commercial and visual routines you can learn with no hardcore gimmicks, etc. HE also talks about presentation, audience participation, approaching tables, who to win over, etc.
I feel, the Paul Harris "Art of Astonishment" books are a must have. The contents is just AMAZING haha you get to learn routines in a very entertaining description, to do with leaves, chocolate bars, cards, coins, peanut butter and jam sandwiches, etc. Every time i open up the books, i'll always find something new to learn. A 9-DVD set has just been announced called "true Astonishments". It comes in a hand crafted box, gimmicks included, all for a cost of USD300 :S. Not all the material from the books will be included, so i think the 3 books are still a very good investment.
If you want to learn real hardcore sleights for cards, i definitely recommend "By Forces Unseen - The card magic of Earnest Erick". It is probably very hard to buy a copy nowadays, but if you can get your hands on it, it is definitely a good investment...if you're willing to put in hours and hours of practise (not something you can perform after 1 day of practise).
Another good book, that comes to mind is "Totally Out of Control" by Chris Kenner. This is the original magic of David Copperfield's producer, so you know this has some awesome material. you even get to read the original document teaching "sybil". If you want to wait, T11 has already started production on a dvd set for this book. i feel it should be worth the wait.
i'll stop talking lah hahaah karang kena ucap sitahu gaban
