It's getting boring now.

What the topic says. Yes, the videos you see now in YouTube are damn boring. YAWNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN.

All you see are non stop Pandora's, Molecules, J5's (IM NOT SAYING THAT THESE ARE BAD FLOURISHES, they are excellent), there's just no originality at all. They just stand in front of the camera and cut cut cut. Now I wouldn't complain if they had style , at least just a little bit.

Imagine a False Sybil cut filmed in front of the camera. Now imagine someone doing a simple Sybil cut Andrei Jikh style ( not that im a big fan of him , just explaining stuff. ) . Clearly you know which is better. Now i'm not saying that these casual flourishers in youtube are bad flourishers. They're good, have maximized potential, just no originality. And I'm also not saying that I'm a geek with card flourishes and far superior to them, I downright suck terribly like there's no tomorrow. Doing the 'cliche' flourishes are okay, but seeing them like 3 times in a video makes you close the youtube internet browser.

Just a rant of mine. Feel free to post your thoughts and feel free to flame me in posts.

well you can do make your own stuffs aslong you have the basics...these basics you can combine them together to make another moves like the jackson 5 ,consist of michael jackson ...oppsss...sorry
consist of 5 different moves, Maddona,sybilism,skater cut,leno cut and Genesis.
and it becomes koko crunch~! jk
you can combine any of your collections moves and "combine them together ,make it uniQue" to form a beautiful freesyle

we all just have to be patient coz there's something out there is kept hidden til the perfect time comes.these speculations on how dull you think cardistry noiwadays will eventually change. Its okay creating new moves but the thing is,are your moves that good?will people want to learn them?

I get inspired from cardistry videos only by the creators, or a flourisher that doesnt meet what I ranted about.

And i've seen people attempting to teach cuts they barely can do and can barely explain how to do it just for coolness and fame get good and positive comments, therefore all moves are good.

Subconsciously, I don't believe what I have said, but I wrote that judged on my experiences.

Moral : Post a move in YouTube, there is always someone to appreciate it.

i still personally love to do J5,pandora ,molucule stuff ,and also to watch them ..

but in same time i love to creating some own stuff ..

This thread makes my "inability" to flourish even worse.

Not necessarily mate,new stuffs are being created time by time,casual flourishes are created to give us general concept and ideas on basic moves. Overtime we will be able to evolve these moves thus creating our own cuts. It takes time,no matter how good u start out,u need a constant practise. Plus flourishing is not compulsory to learn for all magicians,they're only driven by social forces which have them doing pandoras and molecules.

Social forces and peer pressures that is. When I first started hanging out with fellow magicians, I was pressurized to learn flourishes and all poppin', snappin' and cuttin' moves. But when I thought of and read a lot about it, it's not much of a need for a magician. It's completely a new genre in the world of playing cards. The best thing about flourishes is when you are done performing magic and see a few faces and attitudes that look like hecklers watching you, hit them with flourishes and they wouldn't speak a word.

Haha,thats true,by then they'll somehow be convinced that no matter how they try to spoil ur tricks,they know that ur good at controlling cards to wherever location in the deck.

I always do a 4 Ace Revelation flourish, usually halfway through the cuts, "Ih lai! pandai kau mencuci kad atu! Besusun ni kali kad mu ah, leat dulu ih!"

hmmmmm....i never said i Learn them from internet or DVDs eventhogh I have.
i ussually said I learn them from Books,which is also true but this might also makes ppl think you are a serious learner...not just a boy who wants to impersonate David Blaine.
